Joe Mackey - Brunswick (OH) Head Boys' Varsity Coach

Joe Mackey is the Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach at Brunswick High School in the state of Ohio. Joe played his high school basketball at Strongsville High School and then went on to play college basketball at Baldwin-Wallace University where he was a two time all-conference selection, a member of the 1,000 pt. club, the Senior Athlete of the Year, and the Lenny Wilkins Player of the Year, an award given to the best local college player. Joe is a member of both the Strongsville High School and Baldwin Wallace University Hall of Fame.

As Brunswick High School’s Varsity Coach, Joe is the all-time career leader in wins at Brunswick and in Medina County. Coach Mackey is a two time Cleveland Plain Dealer Coach of the Year, 4 time District Coach of the Year, and the 2016 Ohio High School Coaches’ Association Coach of the Year. During his 23 years at Brunswick Coach Mackey has sent numerous players on to the college ranks and impacted the lives of many more while also being elected to Brunswick High School Hall of Fame, the third such honor in his basketball journey.
