Chris Hassinger

Chris Hassinger is the Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Medina High School in Ohio.  He just completed his 5th season as the boys coach after leading the girls program at Medina for four seasons.  As both a Head Coach and an assistant with the boys’ program at Medina, Coach Hass has been a part of 4 of the 6 district championships in school history.  On the girls’ side his teams won 3 straight conference championships and earned one district runner-up. Chris has taught physical education in Medina for 25 years.

A 1990 graduate of Wadsworth High School in Ohio, Chris went on to play 4 years of college basketball at Akron Wayne College where he holds the single game assist record of 21.  He holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from University of Akron.

Chris is making an impact in his players’ lives both on and off the court through the culture he has built at Medina.  In addition to his team’s success on the basketball court, their service projects reach out into the community to touch the lives of many people, allowing his players the chance to give back to those in need.
